Frequently asked questions

Knots and splices

It is not uncommon for skeins of yarn to have knots and splices. If I see them, I will make a note in the listing, however, I am unable to see them all. If you have a skein with an unreasonable number of knots or splices, please let me know.

Dye Lots

Yarns that are dyed in the same dye bath will appear similar, but I can't control how the dye distributes itself over the yarn, so it's best to alternate skeins if using more than one skein in your project.

All yarns are lovingly hand dyed with professional acid dyes. I rinse all yarns after they have been dyed and make every effort to minimise bleeding, however some colours are prone to a small amount of bleeding initially.

Care instructions

While the yarn can be machine washed, I recommend you hand wash your items in cool water with a gentle detergent or wool wash.

Accuracy of photos online

I try my best to represent all photos of my yarn accurately, however all monitors and devices represent colours differently.

Storage of yarn

All products come from a smoke free, dog, cat and fish friendly home. I promise the fish has been nowhere near the yarn. The dog and cat are not allowed to play with the yarn. And all yarn is stored in sealed containers.
